Israel has ten mobile batteries installed across the country by mid-2021, according to US military contracting company Raytheon Technologies, which began joint production of the Iron Dome with the system's creator, Israel's Rafale Advanced Defense Systems, in 2014. According to Raytheon Technologies, each battery has three to four launchers intended to defend a populated area of ​​155 square kilometers. The system is designed to work effectively in all types of weather. Iron Dome was originally built without US assistance, but in 2011 Israel's main ally, the US, began financing the program. Some anti-missile batteries are manufactured in the US.
